Can you hire an instrument at Dawkes? Yes, you can! Whether you want to rent a Bass Clarinet for a term, or want to try a beginner flute for a few months before spending the money on your own one, renting one of our instruments can be a great idea. Hiring an Instrument

We created our ‘Start Right’ rental scheme to encourage everyone to pick an instrument – no matter what your budget, how old you are, or your previous experience. A lot of people are put off buying themselves or their kids an instrument because they’re worried it’ll only be passing faze. It makes sense; no one wants to waste their money! But, by hiring an instrument instead, you don’t have to worry. Even if you only play it for a few months before deciding it’s not for you, you won’t have spent much at all.

We have a large selection of instruments you can hire, including tubas, french horns, and saxophones, and all of them are crafted by Yamaha who are known for their quality and have plenty of designs that are perfect for beginners. The payments you make to rent them out can even be put towards the cost of a brand new instrument once you’re ready, making it very budget-friendly!

How to Hire an Instrument

If you want to hire one of our instruments, the process is super easy. First of all, pick out what you want before reading our rental agreement. Bear in mind that our minimum rental period is 3 months – enough time for you to get to grips and know if you want to carry on, but still short enough to save you some money! Then, you’ll set up a simple direct debit, making payment automatic and easy. 

Once you’ve set up your payment, we’ll find you the instrument you want, professionally prepare it, and ship it out to you.
